The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide general clerical support to the Regional/ District office. The successful incumbent must possess the following personal attributes: Working under pressure, Reliable and Self-motivated. This post is stationed in George.

Minimum Requirements

Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification); A valid code B driving license.

Recommendation

Relevant experience; Experience working on a Integrated Procurement System (IPS).

Key Performance Areas

To provide the following services: Reception service: Diary Management; Typing services: efficient managing, collecting and capturing of electronic data; Office Administration: Effective record keeping; Distribution and tracking of documents; Logistical support: Arrange travelling, accommodation and meetings; Perform administrative and related functions: Keeping database updated .

Competencies

A good understanding of the application of relevant legislation; Working knowledge of systems (Integrated Procurement System, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Communication skills (writing and verbal); Good planning and organising skills; Problem-solving; Basic numeracy.

Remuneration

R 173 703 per annum (Salary level 5) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
